    Journaling reads: It has been my tradition since our first child was born in 1982 to have a yearly family portrait taken. We’ve done them at photography studios, in our home by professional photographers, on the beach by friends, and at weddings. I’ve encouraged everyone I know to adopt this tradition. There is no reason not to have a yearly family photo. But, alas! There is a reason. Children have the strange habit of growing up; sometimes they move far away. Since the above photo was taken in 2009, 2˝ people have joined our immediate family. Who knows if we’ll ever all be in the same place at the same time to take another family photo?

    Cottage Arts products used:
    * Faded Memories Border Bits – bottom border (used the blending mode Luminosity so the border edge would blend into the background)
    * Our Heritage Scrap.Words – title “Tradition” (used the blending mode Color Burn, which turned the brown background of “Tradition” to red)
    * Scrap.Frames 19 – Vintage Frames – frame around photo (doubled)
    * Scrap.Edges 12 – 12x12 Brushes & Overlays – outer edge of layout (used the blending mode Subtract so the overlay would blend into the background)

    Fonts: Times New Roman, Typewriter Royal 200

    Note: I LOVE the new Faded Memories products. And Photoshop’s blending modes! =)
