    Sweet Innocence

    Journaling reads:
No, this is not a photo of me from my childhood. This is me at my 40th high school reunion, specifically at the first event of the reunion, where we toured our old school. But that is probably the very podium where I stood on a number of occasions and spoke to the student body.
Life was simpler then. One of the worst things I had to endure was a bad case of butterflies in the tummy before speaking to about 2000 of my fellow students. An even bigger cause of panic was when one side of my hair wouldnít flip right. Back then real problems like death, divorce, miscarriages, hurricanes, and global terrorism had not touched my life. I didnít even realize my family was quite poor. Ah, the sweet innocence of childhood.
Good news, Donna! Your adult life is pretty sweet, too. You have a husband who loves you more than you deserve and provides generously for all your needs and most of your wants. Your five children are smart, cute, and hilariously funny. The whole family loves the Lord.
Yes, the innocence is gone, and I am old, but life is good. (Itís been FORTY years since high school??! Thatís scary.)
